SupplyPoint® Turn-Key Rapid Production System
The SupplyPoint® Turn-Key Rapid Production System is a breakthrough design to production process technology that reduces…
The number of steps from design to finished product from 20 steps to 2 steps
The average time expended from design to finished product from 2-12 months to 2-4 weeks
The image to the right (click to enlarge) is a side-by-side comparison of the traditional approach and the SupplyPoint® Turn-Key Rapid Production System in manufacturing machined parts:
This breakthrough yields the following impacts on commercial and DoD organic manufacturing of machined parts:
Significant reductions in
– Cycle times
– Lead times
– Production costs
– Inventory costs
– Delivery delays
Revision Controls
Rapid response to surge demand using untapped capacity of CNC machines in the SupplyPoint® network
Risk mitigation of supply chain disruptions, obsolescence, and battlefield backorders for legacy and future weapon systems.
SupplyPoint® Turn-Key Rapid Production Technical Packages
The primary deliverable of the SupplyPoint® Turn-Key Rapid Production System is Electronic Turn-Key Rapid Production Technical Packages for on-demand production of machined parts on multiple CNC platforms. Each package is:
Part-specific for production on multiple CNC platforms
Each package includes
– First Article Inspection Certificate
– Complete and proven out Process Plan
– 3D Solid Model
– Setup and Process Instructions
– Machine-specific G & M Codes with embedded advanced macro parametric scripts
– Cutting Tools that produce that part
– Revision Control
The Turn-Key packages are archived and continuously updated. When required each package can be rapidly reprogrammed to generate the G&M codes and setup instruction sheets for most CNC machine configurations to respond to Surge Demands, Parts Obsolescence, and Supply Chain Interruptions.
The primary features of the SupplyPoint® Turn-Key Rapid Production System are…
1. CNC Engineering Services
Team approach to purchasing decisions
Check for post-installation errors in controller parameters and safety barriers.
Increase efficiency and productivity of CNC machines by embedding SupplyPoint® macro scripts
2. SupplyPoint® Turn-Key Rapid Production
Design for manufacturability throughout the process
A single CAD/CAM/POST Processing platform with embedded SupplyPoint® Advanced Technology Database that includes
– Auto Feature Recognition
– Auto Tool Selection
– POST Processing files for 1,400 Combinations of CNC Models-Controllers
– Embedded Advanced Macro Parametric Scripts
Minimize potential for Crashes and Operator edit prevention
Coolant and Pallet Checks
Run multiple parts on same program
Monitor tool load
Check chip conveyer
In-process inspection with automatic probe routines
Flag when machine requires maintenance
Accurate machine cycle time from CNC controller clock
Reduced Controller memory use
Run Time Optimization
– Continuously updated to keep pace with technology advances
This single platform eliminates barriers of multiple departments, multiple positions, and multiple CAD and CAM platforms; reduces number of CNC machines, setups, and cycle and lead times; and minimizes CNC crashes and eliminates operator errors.
3. Network of SupplyPoint®-registered CNC machines
The database contains information on CNC makes and models and Controller makes and models in use by machines shops in New England, Florida and elsewhere. This information constitutes a network of CNC machines that could be used to respond to requirements for machined parts production using the SupplyPoint® Turn-Key Rapid Production System and rapidly reconfiguring each Turn-Key Rapid Production Package to the configurations of the CNC machines to be used.
